Band Bio

Strategic Intent are a five piece band from Stockport with a sound that the music industry has described as “post-punk indie”. For the last 18 months they have been making a name for themselves around the North West, receiving airplay on stations such as Xfm Manchester, whose listeners voted them Clint Boon's unsigned band of the week, and playing commanding live performances at venues such as Liverpool's Cavern Club and Manchester's Academy 3.

The band was formed in February 2006 and released their debut album 'An Eye For An Eye' in April of the same year, the record eagerly received by their rapidly growing fan base. A number of tracks from this album have featured on DVDs charting the rise of bands such as My Chemical Romance and Fall Out Boy. Their live work has seen them supporting the West Midland’s up and comers "Untitled Musical Project", and opening for Scottish all-girl rock band "The Hedrons" during their recent tour.

September 2007 saw the release of Strategic Intent's new EP, 'Are We Having Fun Yet?', a collection of four new songs displaying their wide range of musical influences and skills.

In Februay 2008 the bands line up changed when drummer and song writer Neil Hodgkinson left the band to live in Barcelona. Luckily the band had an immediate replacement in Simon Hope. What People Have Said About Strategic Intent
"Strategic Intent do it for me! None of your pretentious bollocks here, just proper rock tunes, no messin! They'll be doing big things through 2008."- Clint Boon, Xfm Manchester
